With all kind of different things that are more (or less) connected to fire pits, outdoor cooking and making killer barbecues, we are heading into a fine summer.

It seems that as the winter approaches more people are interested in fire pits, and I thought it would be the opposite, turns out that many like to build or place a fire pit in the garden so they can enjoy the view from the living room. More about this in this post.

Here is a nice fire pit story. A few weeks ago I visited a friend that had just moved into a new house with his family, with not much of a budget he wanted to make the most of his few first months in the new place, he wanted to add something to the house that would give it a personal touch and add an identity to the place, so that the whole family could feel that this is actually the new home and not a replacement for the old house.

The house has been built about 40 years ago, it was in a good condition, the kitchen and the living room has been redone a couple of years ago, and the old lady that lived in the house took excellent care of it, there was not much to be done, or in fact, not much important work to be done. One part of the house was a little let down and that was the patio, and I immediately thought about a patio fire pit when I saw the front of the house.

During the last spring I was bothered by the fact that after a long and hard winter I couldn’t enjoy my patio, just because it was too cold outside. When I did dare to wonder outside and enjoy the early evening hours my wife never joined me. Starting to think of a solution I stumbled across a hardware shop that sold Fire Pits kits. It was not something I thought off, I was leaning towards closing the patio, or installing a patio gazebo, but the fire pit seemed like a good idea. I didn’t have much time to think about it, since I wanted to site, comfortably and with my wife, on the patio in the end of each day and enjoy the sunset. Within three days and a wide research on the internet I became quit a fire pits expert, I was amazed at the range and the variety this pits industry has. Fire pit is not very expensive, of course you can always get a fancy one and spend a lot of money, but you certainly don’t have to do that to get a beautiful fire to compliment your backyard or patio.

A week after I thought of using the pit I already had one, not only is it beautiful and perfect for barbeques or a quiet evening at home, the fire has already encouraged us to invite people over.
